About us
At the service of patients and Hessian dentists
The State Dental Association of Hesse (Landeszahnärztekammer Hessen, LZKH) is the professional association of dentists in the State of Hesse. As a corporation under public law, its primary function is to represent the interests of its members – dentists in the state of Hesse – at state level.
Accordingly, the LZKH governs compliance with professional obligations and understands itself as a centre of excellence for the dental profession in all matters relating to practice, in particular:
- Education and training for dentists
- Education and training for dental assistants
- Legal advice
- Assessor and mediation board
- Advice on business and fee-related issues
Patient protection and satisfaction are also at the forefront of the activities of the State Dental Association of Hesse. Patient information is an important concern in this context. At the patient advice office, specifically set up for this purpose, the LZKH offers a central point of contact for members of the public to help answer questions relating to the field of dentistry. In this way, the association meets the increasing demand of patients for information as well as with the public, quality-assured designation of specialist areas of practice in dentistry.
The LZKH head office is located in Frankfurt am Main. As a self-administrating dental institution, the association is led by a democratically elected board of directors comprised of delegates from the field of dentistry.
7,391 *) dentists are members of the State Dental Association of Hesse, 3,654 *) of them have their own practice.
